About the project
YangiLotin is an add-in for Microsoft Word and Excel built by the SmartX team. It converts documents between Cyrillic, old Latin (1995) and new Latin (Law O'RQ-1184) Uzbek scripts in one click and flags Uzbek spelling errors as you type. All processing happens on the computer itself — documents are never sent to the internet.
Features
- Everything to new Latin — mixed Cyrillic and old-Latin text is converted to new Latin in one click.
- A button for each direction — Cyrillic ↔ Latin, Old Latin → New; for selected text, a paragraph, a table or the whole document.
- Live conversion (Word) — a word typed in Cyrillic or old Latin switches to new Latin as soon as you press space.
- Spell check (Word) — misspelled words get a red wavy underline with suggestions on right-click; all errors can be fixed in one click.
- Autocorrect — common mistakes such as Uzbekiston → O'zbekiston or malumot → ma'lumot are fixed automatically.
- Banking and finance dictionary — industry terms are included in the spelling dictionary.
- Protection — Russian and English phrases, personal names, URLs, e-mails and Excel formulas are left untouched.
- Undo — every conversion can be reverted with Ctrl+Z.
Who it is for
Organizations with heavy document flow moving to the new alphabet: banks and financial institutions, government agencies and khokimiyats, enterprises, educational institutions and publishers.
Installation
The program ships as a single MSI file. It can be installed on a single computer or deployed silently to hundreds or thousands of computers via Active Directory (Group Policy) or SCCM/Intune.
